First and foremost a keyboard player, Dan Berkson was playing music six nights a week in his hometown of Chicago by the age of 16. He entered the New England Conservatory of Music in 1993 and quickly immersed himself in the worlds of jazz, funk and soul. While at NEC, he studied with such jazz greats as Danilo Perez, Cecil Mcbee and George Russell. Dan co-founded "The Daddys", a funk band which won numerous awards and gained a loyal fan base in the Boston area.
As his interests turned more towards House, Dub and electronic music, he went to London to study production and immersed himself in the UK's forward-thinking music scene. Since then, Berkson has released tracks on Moodmusic, Movim, Exun, Gourmet, Household, and also has upcoming releases on Poker Flat, Crosstown Rebels and many more. His deeply funky, techno-fied style finds its way into the boxes of countless DJs across the globe.
“People” is synthesized Electro funk at its best and takes us back to the experimental synth pop sound of Kraftwerk. “People” merges driving electronic percussion and basslines with a catchy synthesized melody and vox lyrics. Berkson’s brilliant production injects a nice dose of funk into the mix, similar to the Break-beat genius of Afrika Bambaatta, to create a well-rounded piece of electronic music. This is a great Electro track for all the IDM fans and DJs and will bring bop n’ bounce to any dance floor.
